The First Cebu Group of Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in 1984 and are still having their meetings in the same rooms at Redemptorist Church, located at Queen Street, off Juana Osmeñia Street, walking distance from the well known Fuente Osmeñia where Robinson Department Store is located. If you are looking for accommodation, there are both several regular hotels and cheaper hostels in the area.
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

We are bringing the message of sobriety to inmates in e g Lapu Lapu City Jail every Wednesday.
Many of those spending their sentences there, ended up in jail because of alcohol. " This could have been me" are thoughts that gratefully come to mind when the meetings are over, and we can turn to a smiling guard as he closes the gate behind us.
Thank you to all of you who visit our website - "keep coming back" - or rather " hope to see you in one of our meetings ".
